We turned a showroom launch into an interactive experience that's been the talk of design week — the inaugural activation inside The Light Room, the experimental space we built with Mason Studio and VYVYD Lighting. Debuting at the DesignTO Festival, Light Gathering in the Yuàn brought Mason Studio, VYVYD Lighting, and Chef Eva Chin of Yan Dining Room together for an immersive dining experience shaped by light, culture, and contemporary Chinese hospitality — inspired by the yuàn, the courtyard at the emotional center of the traditional home, where families gather, celebrate, and mark the season. Two intimate, ticketed evenings, built to make gathering feel both familiar and new.

The program had up to 10 courses with each being paired not just wine but with light - enhancing the dining experience into an interactive design experience.

The event was designed to bring worlds together on purpose — design, hospitality, and culinary, meeting and mingling under one creative hub. It's since won numerous awards and made waves well beyond the design industry, into hospitality and culinary circles alike — proof that light, done right, is a reason for people to gather.
